Speaker Forum Series
The Speaker Forum Series at State Center Community College District was where my work as a designer began to evolve into storytelling. Each visiting speaker represented a lived experience, a journey worth translating visually. For NASA’s Dr. Moogega Cooper, known as a “real-life Guardian of the Galaxy,” a simple portrait became a cosmic story and an opportunity for some fun! I replaced her plain backdrop with a vibrant nebula to capture both her personality and her pioneering work in planetary protection. For Fresno Poet Laureate Lee Herrick and humanitarian Ela Gandhi, the designs drew from color, texture, and symbolism that reflected their cultural and emotional impact. Each poster wasn’t just a graphic, it was an introduction. I designed them to set tone and anticipation, extending their stories across print, social media, event signage, and large-scale banners. This series taught me that design could frame a dialogue even before a single word was spoken. It’s where I learned that communication is about connection. Key roles: Creative direction, event branding, visual storytelling, print and digital design, campus campaign integration.
