USC - Center for Inclusive Democracy
For more than a decade, I’ve partnered with the Center for Inclusive Democracy, a nonpartisan research institute that examines elections, voter behavior, and civic participation. What began as a small design collaboration in 2011 has grown into an enduring creative relationship built on trust and shared purpose. When the center transitioned from UC Davis to the University of Southern California, I helped guide its visual evolution. I developed a brand identity that reflected both academic rigor and accessibility. The challenge was to balance USC’s institutional branding with CID’s independent voice as a national research leader. The resulting design system unified their reports, data briefs, and digital presence, creating a cohesive visual language that communicates clarity and credibility. From color systems to typography, every design decision is to support their mission to make data about democracy understandable and actionable for communities and policymakers alike. Key roles: Brand identity development, report and publication design, web and digital graphics, long-term design consultancy.
